John R. Davel, President of Davel Engineering & Environmental Inc.

John R. Davel, P.E.

President

John brings over 30 years of experience in civil engineering to the Davel team. He believes in the value of customer satisfaction and specializes in site development for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

John’s employment background includes 14 years of civil engineering experience at a Consulting Engineering firm before founding Davel Engineering and Environmental, Inc. Early in his career, he gained valuable experience as a project engineer, where he designed and managed civil engineering projects for a variety of clients. John’s area of specialty was stormwater management, flood studies, sewer and water design, and land development.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his professional engineering license in 1988 with the State of Wisconsin and in 2012 in the State of Michigan. John is an active member of the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers and served as the State Director from 1997-1998.

Project Engineer

Tim’s primary role as a civil engineer with Davel Engineering & Environmental Inc. is to prepare engineering studies, develop site designs, and prepare construction plans and permits.

Tim also works to keep projects moving smoothly by communicating with various municipalities and keeping clients up to date on project developments.

Tim loves the challenge of coming up with new innovative designs and his varied role with the company. His special areas of expertise include stormwater management plans, erosion and sediment control, and other design aspects related to land development.

His personal goal: “To stay on budget and develop a quality design that meets the client’s needs.”

Project Engineer

Mitchell’s responsibilities as a civil engineer include designing sewer and water systems, and drainage, grading, and stormwater systems to serve project sites and also preparing and submitting permit applications and obtaining agency approvals for engineering plans.

Scott Andersen, PLS

Professional Land Surveyor

Scott’s job is to conduct field and office work to establish property boundaries for both commercial and residential situations based on recorded documents. In addition, Scott collects and establishes vertical and horizontal information for engineering-based projects.

Christopher S. Ewald, P.G.

Professional Geologist

Christopher is a seasoned environmental consultant with over 30 years of experience in environmental consulting. He earned his B.S. in Geology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1989 and has been a registered professional geologist since 1996.

Christopher has extensive experience in transaction screens, site assessments, site investigations, remediations, and site closures. He is trained as a hazardous waste site worker and is also a registered tank system site assessor. His wealth of expertise and dedication to providing innovative solutions make him a valuable asset to the Davel Engineering team.

Travis Stuck, Environmental Specialist at Davel Engineering & Environmental Inc.

Travis has been practicing in a professional manner for 14 years conducting wetland determinations and soil & site evaluations.

Travis’s professional experience includes private and public sector work: owning and operating Eastern Ridges Land Consulting, LLC, working for a local surveying firm, and, most recently, as a Soil Conservationist with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) – Natural Resource Conservation Services (NRCS). With the NRCS, Travis worked closely with other federal, state, and local agencies and private landowners.

Travis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in resource management, with an emphasis on soil and water resources. He has additional education in surveying and land law. He is a Professional Wetland Scientists (PWS) – Society of Wetland Scientists, Certified Soil Tester (CST)- Department of Safety & Professional Services, and most recently, he was accepted into the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) – Professionally Assured Wetland Delineator Program.

As an “Assured Delineator,” our wetland delineations conducted by Travis, do not require DNR review and subsequent concurrence. This can be a substantial help in moving forward quickly with projects that have wetland concerns.
